Offshore Wind

SgurrEnergy has amassed a wealth of offshore wind knowledge over the past 5 years including key issues such as wind turbine design, marinisation and access for maintenance. SgurrEnergy acted as technical advisor for Q7, the world’s first project financed offshore wind farm. This 120MW project is located off the coast of the Netherlands. In addition SgurrEnergy has advised lenders Dexia and Rabobank on a EUR 153million offshore wind farm. Financial close on the first phase of the Offshore Thorntonbank development which will be located 30km off the Belgium coast near Zeebrugge was reached on 23 May 2007.
