Noise can cause annoyance in the community and injury to hearing in the workplace. SgurrEnergy's noise and vibration consultants provide a wide range of engineering services and solutions so that clients can avoid noise problems. There are several aspects of this service in which we have particular expertise, born of extensive experience, so that we can provide excellence at a competitive cost.
Noise assessments for wind farms and turbines are carried out in accordance with ETSU guidance and other criteria. Projects with which we are currently involved include a number of Europe's largest proposed wind farms, together with a number of smaller wind farms.
Noise assessments for large projects require the use of sophisticated noise modeling software. At SgurrEnergy our highly skilled and experienced noise and vibration consultanting engineers have a detailed knowledge of a number of noise modeling packages, as well as using our own in-house mathematical tools.
Our noise and vibration consultants have also conducted noise impact assessments for many other projects, including utilities such as electricity generating stations, waste water treatment plants, electricity transmission and distribution systems. We have particular expertise in substation noise and vibration and underground gas storage proposals, carried out for developers and planners throughout the UK and abroad.
The 'Noise at Work Regulations 1989' require that, when circumstances require it, an assessment of the risk to employees' hearing is undertaken. Our staff have extensive experience with occupational noise, conducting risk assessments for large and small companies.
We have the ability to conduct field measurements ranging from initial surveys to full investigational studies. Where a client approaches us with an existing noise problem we can troubleshoot and advise on mitigation and noise control. Our client base ranges from individuals to large international companies.
