At SgurrEnergy we have a team of project managers and engineers led by our Implementation Manager, Steve McDonald. Steve was the Project Manager for the Owner's Engineer Contract at the 30MW Beinn an Tuirc wind farm on the Kintyre Peninsula.
The implementation team has considerable experience of delivering turnkey renewable and non-renewable projects. This has involved multi-disciplinary design, procurement, fabrication, installation, testing and commissioning of hardware. Where required, projects are managed in accordance with the Construction Design and Management (CDM) regulations, typically to demanding schedules and strict budgets, underpinned by appropriate quality systems.
In addition, SgurrEnergy's safety team has undertaken the role of Planning Supervisor for wind farm construction projects. SgurrEnergy's implementation team are all CITB safety passport trained and are qualified to IOSH and NEBOSH safety management.
SgurrEnergy conducts project management procedures to BS6079 - Guide to Project Management. In addition, SgurrEnergy believes in acting as an oracle for the project, reviewing and assessing contractor's safety, quality, environmental management, project management and technical documentation. The SgurrEnergy implementation team can call on the expertise of a whole range of disciplines to cover all facets of a project and advise the client accordingly.
The implementation team can produce enquiry documents (including conceptual and detailed design) for all contracts associated with a wind farm and can undertake tender appraisal including a commercial review by our Contracts Engineer.
The implementation team can also undertake the role of Chairman and Secretary for HAZOP studies in order to identify and eliminate hazard and operability problems and to provide assurance that the design is safe to construct, operate and maintain.
