If a site appears viable based on a feasibility study, the next step is to conduct field monitoring and measurements to get a true representation of energy resource at the site. Our team of experts can assess the resource available in wind, marine, hydro, biomass and solar. They will then size and optimise the project recommending the best technology for the resource available in relation to energy demand ie the amount of energy required. At this stage planning applications can be prepared and a technology assessment carried out.
Our technical services team provide a comprehensive wind monitoring service, all potential wind farm projects require reliable, comprehensive and coherent wind data to enable further analysis of, for example, wind farm layout optimisation and energy yield prediction. This team has extensive experience of managing the mast installation (10-70m), data recovery and decommissioning process of on-site anemometer masts for an array of clients and recently enhanced wind monitoring capabilities using LIDAR technology.
In addition at this phase of a project SgurrEnergy can provide experts’ report, pre-contract document preparation and negotiations, bank’s engineer, environmental impact, operating and construction noise and shadow flicker for wind farms.
