Princess Amalia (Q7), The world’s first project financed offshore wind farmSgurrEnergy acted as technical advisor for this 120MW project, located off the coast of the Netherlands, on behalf of a consortium of lenders. We performed the energy yield due diligence and carried out a technology assessment. We also carried out an analysis of long term wind speed trends to get the long term picture for the life of the wind farm and concluded the work with a quantification of the risks. We are ideally suited to carry out these responsibilities as we are 100% independent and provide sound impartial advice based on many years experience.

Braes of Doune wind farm, 72MW, Airtricity - Milestone project for the UKSgurrEnergy are the technical advisors for the turbines, mechanical, SCADA and communication systems for this 72MW wind farm developed by Airtricity in Stirlingshire, Scotland. SgurrEnergy are very proud to have supported this wind farm as it marks a milestone for the UK as becomes the 7th country in the world to install 2000MW of wind energy. The UK took 14 years to reach the 1000MW barrier but has reached the 2000MW barrier in less than an additional two years. With over 800MW now under construction in the UK hitting the 3000 MW milestone may be even quicker than two years. SgurrEnergy is pleased to continue to support the UK industry in achieving this goal with our high quality and highly responsive approach to delivering consultancy services. Ongoing technical advice is being provided for this project which came online in February 2007.
Paul McFarlane, Technical Services Manager, SgurrEnergy explained, "We have provided ongoing technical support to this project from the outset. We are delighted to see it through the construction and commissioning phase and into full operation providing clean green energy to the grid and supplying around 45,000 homes with sustainable renewable energy." |
SgurrEnergy conducted the full Power Performance Assessment at Beinn Tharsuinn wind farm on behalf of ScottishPower. We were also the technical advisors for the turbines, SCADA and communication systems in this 30MW wind farm situated in the Highlands of Scotland. This wind farm has been operational since September 2006.
