As the interest in utilising renewable energy at a smaller scale grows, SgurrEnergy are increasingly being called upon to transfer our knowledge and experience to the Microgeneration sector. Our Noise and Vibration team recently conducted a survey for a leading small wind turbine manufacturer on one of the turbines in their range. The work was carried out in accordance with the guidance specified in International Standard 61400/11 and aimed to characterise the noise emissions arising from the turbine.
With Microgeneration technologies being installed in and around the built environment planners will often ask for small turbine manufacturers to adhere to standard noise criteria. With the data produced by SgurrEnergy the turbine manufacturer is now able to demonstrate compliance with this criteria.
