Noise and Vibration Work

SgurrEnergy’s Noise and Vibration team have recently completed an in depth study for Vestas-Celtic Wind Technology. The work was conducted in and around the company’s turbine manufacturing plant near Campbeltown, Argyll. The study encompassed a Community Noise Survey, a Noise Risk Assessment and a Hand-Arm Vibration Assessment.

We are also close to concluding another major piece of survey work, on the proposed Beauly to Denny 400kv overhead transmission line and associated electricity substations. The line’s proposed route will run a course of some 200km from the Scottish Highland to the Central Belt. As such, noise monitoring is required at several hundred adjacent locations. Our Noise and Vibration staff has now completed the required monitoring at all locations and the results are currently being analysed.
