Natixis Environnement & Infrastructures is a French portfolio manager that structures and manages investment funds geared to providing equity finance for sustainable development projects. The organisation recently commissioned SgurrEnergy’s French speaking solar and wind power experts to carry out the technical due diligence review of twelve French wind farm projects and three photovoltaic (PV) portfolios. The PV portfolios comprised eighteen PV power plants in France, Italy, New-Caledonia and French Guiana. The projects were a mixture of operational PV plants and projects in an advanced stage of development. Our role as lender’s engineer was to provide an independent technical assessment of the portfolios. SgurrEnergy assessed the vendor’s capabilities and resources, reviewed the technical information, energy yield forecasts, contracts, permits and financial models. Carried out by experienced consultants in our Paris and Glasgow offices,
SgurrEnergy identified the key potential risks associated with each project, recommended appropriate mitigating measures and commented on the methodology proposed for project completion. Arnaud Bertrand, Consultant from our Paris commented, “Since opening our French office in Q1 2009, we have been approached by many investors and project developers interested in benefiting from our wealth of global experience.”
