SgurrEnergy recognised for contribution to UK renewables

On 11 June 2009 SgurrEnergy’s senior team attended the glittering British Renewable Energy Awards ceremony in London. SgurrEnergy was shortlisted in two categories, the Company of the Year award and the Champion award where Ian Irvine, co-founder was the nominee alongside John Baldwin (CNG Services), Mervyn Bowden (Marks & Spencer), Phil Maud (Morrisons), Rt Hon. Ed Miliband MP and Alan Simpson MP. Alan Simpson went on to collect the prize. SgurrEnergy was highly commended in the Company of Year 2009 category which was judged by criteria of excellence, dedication and which business had done most during the year to advance UK renewables. SgurrEnergy would like to extend warm congratulations to all of the British Renewable Energy Awards participants and the eventual winners.

 

Ian Irvine, expressed, “The annual British Renewable Energy Awards recognise many of the great achievements in our industry. It is an exciting time to be involved in renewable energy and SgurrEnergy is proud to be at the forefront of new technological developments across all of the technologies. In 2008 we launched the Galion lidar, a ground breaking laser device for remotely measuring wind speed and direction. This is just one of many exciting new innovations the company has to offer. The Renewable Energy Association is an important and useful hub for all players in the British Renewable Energy industry. The annual awards ceremony is a night of fun, celebration and recognition of incredible achievements.”
