SgurrEnergy has picked up another major accolade for its work in the renewables sector. The Glasgow-headquartered company received the ScottishPower Renewables Outstanding Achievement in Renewable Energy award at the Scottish Council for Development and Industry (SCDI) awards dinner on 21 November 2008 held at the Glasgow Hilton. The SCDI awards recognise the global achievements of companies based throughout Scotland in a wide range of sectors. SgurrEnergy co-founder Ian Irvine said: “We are continuing to grow our business internationally and are naturally delighted to be recognised for our active role in Scotland’s ever-expanding renewable energy sector. More than 30 per cent of SgurrEnergy’s current revenues are generated from overseas projects and the firm has undertaken work in more than 25 countries spanning five continents since it was established in 2002. This award is a great way to celebrate our remarkable achievements to date and, of course, the huge potential for future development."
