SgurrEnergy advises Masdar on London Array investment

During August and September 2008 SgurrEnergy, undertook a review of the 1GW London Array offshore wind farm project on behalf of Masdar, working in partnership with the economics consultancy IPA.

Within a challenging timescale, SgurrEnergy provided a focused assessment of the project’s permitting situation, contracting status and structure, construction timescales, capital and operating cost estimates and energy yield base case.

By drawing on our extensive offshore wind experience we were able to provide Masdar with focused advice within a short period of time, giving our client sufficient confidence to be able to take a major investment decision which is not only a significant deal for Masdar but is also very good news for London Array and for the UK offshore industry as whole, at a time when confidence levels in offshore wind are being affected by the wider economic situation.

This assignment followed closely behind our major acquisition assignments for Vattenfall for the Eclipse Energy and AMEC Wind deals, therefore reinforcing our reputation as one of the leading international renewable energy consultancies.
