New Irish office opening

June 2008

SgurrEnergy is delighted to announce the opening of our third international offices located in County Wexford, Ireland.

The decision to open in County Wexford was taken after a number of new business wins both north and south of the border. Ian Irvine, Technical Director commented, “this opening represents an important milestone in the company’s strategic international expansion plan.”

The Ireland office will be headed up by Senior Renewable Energy Consultant Geoff Hoffheinz, who joined the company in 2003. Geoff, who has expertise in wind, solar and hydro power, has worked on renewables projects across the world including the 1000MW Waikato River Hydro Scheme in his native New Zealand. He said: "An increasing number of SgurrEnergy's clients are based in the Republic so it made perfect sense to open a base in the country. When I first started working in the sector in Ireland six years ago there were only a handful of renewable energy developers - now there are dozens. The number of projects is predicted to grow even further in the coming years." The Ireland office is currently seeking to recruit skilled engineers and project managers.
