SgurrEnergy has won the International Financial Services District Award for International Activity at the Glasgow Business Awards 2007. The leading independent renewables consultancy was recognised at the prestigious ceremony held at Glasgow’s Crowne Plaza hotel on October 24. SgurrEnergy - which has an established office in Beijing - has developed extensive UK and international experience in wind, bio-energy, hydro, marine, solar and hybrid power. Services include project feasibility, design, development, operation and maintenance, construction management, due diligence and noise and vibration assessments.
Speaking after the event, which was driven by Glasgow Chamber of Commerce and Scottish Enterprise Glasgow, implementation director Steve McDonald said: “This award recognises our significant presence in international markets. “Our team of over 50 skilled consultants has carried out renewable energy consultancy work across five continents in over 20 countries. “We already have an established office in Beijing and plans are now in place to launch an office in India.
“This represents an exciting challenge for us and will give us the platform to expand into further geographical areas throughout the globe.”
