Electricity Generation form Distillery Waste
SgurrEnergy was commissioned to compare options and assess the feasibility of developing a bioenergy plant fuelled by distillery waste product. A planning application for this plant has been submitted.
HAZOP Studies for co-firing biomass
SgurrEnergy acted as Chairman and Secretary in HAZOP studies carried out for Longannet and Cockenzie power stations. The studies identified and eliminated safety issues resulting from the introduction of biomass fuel into these coal fired power stations. SgurrEnergy also project engineered and supervised the testing and commissioning of the Cockenzie installation.
Braemar District Heating Study
SgurrEnergy developed a detailed financial model to assess the economic feasibility of building and operating a community district heating scheme.
Biomass Quality and Availability Assessment
SgurrEnergy undertook a world wide study to assess the quality and quantities of potential sources of biomass arising in worldwide markets for use in co-firing or stand-alone biomass facilities in the UK.
