Renewable Energy Consultant (June 07)

Job description

This is a client facing role that would suit a highly numerate individual with a diverse set of technical skills and the initiative to rise to a challenge. The successful candidate will be able to respond to our clients needs with the development of bespoke technical solutions. The ability to rapidly acquire an understanding of problems and generate solutions should be demonstrated.

The ability to retrieve and manipulate large operational wind farm datasets using relational database tools, and to interpret and report upon the results in a productive and insightful way, is sought. This role encompasses tasks ranging from performing routine analyses to devising innovative solutions.

Essential criteria

  • Degree in a highly numerate discipline (e.g. physics, mathematics, engineering)
  • Familiarity with SQL, MS Access, MS Excel and VBA
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • Flexible and proactive approach is required to thrive in this busy team.

Desirable criteria

  • Post-graduate qualification in a highly numerate discipline
  • Familiarity with PHP, HTML, Java, C, C++, Fortran, Matlab
  • Previous technical experience
  • An interest in renewable energy and/or sustainability.

Renewable Energy experience is not required as full training will be given.

Hours: 37 hours per week. Occasional evenings to attend meetings
Holidays: 23 days and 9 public holidays
Contract: Permanent after 3 month probationary period
