Senior Engineer

SgurrEnergy is an international renewable energy consultancy working with a broad range of technologies including wind, bioenergy, hydro and marine.  The company is now seeking to recruit a suitably qualified individual to join our expanding bioenergy consultancy team.

 

Job Description

SgurrEnergy’s bioenergy team carries out a broad range of activities in bioenergy heat and power projects.  These activities include, but are not limited to, technical and economic feasibility assessment, equipment specification, project implementation and technical advisor work.

The successful candidate will be involved in all of the above areas and provide technical input to a range of projects currently underway.  In addition, they will be encouraged to seek new opportunities in this expanding marketplace and continue ongoing development of the bioenergy team.

 

Essential Criteria

• A relevant engineering degree
• Experience of boiler plant design, operation and or installation gained in the power generation, process engineering or building services sector.
• Evidence of successful project management and delivery
• The ability to produce and review high quality technical reports to predefined deadlines
• Excellent communication skills
• A flexible and proactive approach to work

 

Desirable Criteria

• Knowledge of a range of bioenergy technologies
• Equally at home on a construction site or in the offices of senior executives
• Knowledge of solids handling
• Knowledge of steam systems

 

Hours: 37 hours per week. Occasional evenings to attend meetings
Holidays: 23 days and 9 public holidays
Contract: Permanent after 3 month probationary period
