IT Support Officer

Owing to continued growth and high demand for its services, the company is now seeking to recruit an IT Support Officer to support the IT Manager.

 

Job description

The principal responsibility of this post is to provide support to the operation of the IT systems. You will provide desktop and server level support and assist with the configuration and deployment of hardware, software, server rebuilds, administration, network connectivity and the maintenance of security measures on all IT infrastructure. You will also provide support for the company’s communications systems including the VOIP phone system and Blackberry interfaces.

Other duties may include but are not limited to:

  • IT Hardware & Software specification and procurement.
  • Advising on improvements and strategic planning of the IT infrastructure.
  • Data analysis.
  • Programming and scripting to assist business functions.
  • Other ad hoc activities as and when required.

 

Essential criteria

  • Degree, HNC/HND qualification in an IT related area.
    • Alternatively, candidates without an IT related qualification will be considered with appropriate experience.
  • Experience in a similar support environment working with Microsoft products:
    • Server 2000/2003/Storage2003.
    • Exchange 2000/2003.
    • Windows XP.
    • Office 2003/2007
  • Knowledge of communications systems, networking, firewalls and anti –virus software.
  • Experience of working within a team.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Analytical problem solving.
  • You should have excellent communication skills, coupled with a flexible and proactive approach to work to thrive in this busy team.

Hours: 37 hours per week. Occasional evenings to attend meetings
Holidays: 23 days and 9 public holidays
Contract: Permanent after 3 month probationary period
