Electrical Engineer

Our success to date is based on in-depth process and engineering knowledge, applied in a practical manner to provide the best possible solutions and advice to our clients.  Owing to continued growth and high demand for its services, the company is now seeking to recruit an Electrical Engineer to join our expanding Electrical/Control & Instrumentation team based in Glasgow.

Job description

The principal responsibilities of this post are to:

  • Support renewable project developments, providing electrical engineering input at various points from the design and implementation to commissioning.

  • Review technical documents; specification, reports and drawings against customer requirements.

  • Carry out system analysis for determining equipment specification and ratings.

  • Write and review testing and commissioning procedures.

  • Assessing the quality of work on site on the behalf of clients against a specification.

  • Attending off site meetings and surveys.

Other duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Manage renewable product developments and field trials.

  • Technical assessment of renewable products.

  • Other ad hoc activities as and when required.

Essential criteria

  • Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering or similar.
  • Significant postgraduate experience in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience in LV/MV power system design.
  • Technically competent.
  • Competent PC user.
  • The successful candidate will be required to produce reports for clients and so attention to detail, reliability, good organisational skills are paramount.
  • You should have excellent communication skills, coupled with a flexible and proactive approach to work to thrive in this busy team.

Desirable criteria

  • Experience of power system analysis and fault level studies.
  • Experience in specifying LV and MV equipment.
  • Experience in system earthing
  • Experience in protection studies
  • An interest in renewable energy and/or sustainability.

Hours: Full time

Salary: Competitive plus benefits
Holidays: 23 days and 9 public holidays pro rata
Contract: Permanent after 3 month probationary period
