The directors of SgurrEnergy have had a long association in consultancy and project work in the field of power generation and renewable energy. This association culminated in the formation of the core team which delivered the Isle of Muck Wind Diesel Scheme in 1999.
A combination of technical, business and project delivery expertise, together with a strong commitment to the philosophy of sustainability and renewable energy, enable SgurrEnergy to offer clients an unrivalled range of skills and expertise, leading to the delivery of successful renewable energy projects.

Ian has been in the renewable energy industry for over 18 years. With a background in mechanical engineering, he has been involved in a wide range of renewable projects, from 500kW hydro schemes to 4000MW wind farms. He is particularly skilled in technical assessments and front-end project development. Ian spent several years managing the Renewables Systems Group at ScottishPower Technology (Ingenco). He has provided technical due diligence assessments for numerous financiers on a large portfolio of wind farms throughout the UK, Europe, Asia and North America, including the 120MW project Q7, which was the first project financed offshore wind farm.
Steve managed the Special Projects Group at ScottishPower Technology (Ingenco) before teaming up with Ian to set up SgurrEnergy. His strengths lie in project management and particularly the implementation of renewable projects. Steve led the team responsible for the Owner’s Engineer contract at the 30MW Beinn an Tuirc wind farm on the Kintyre peninsula. He is currently project managing a portfolio of wind farms in the UK and in China.
