The co-founders and directors of SgurrEnergy have had a long association in consultancy and project work in the field of power generation and renewable energy. This association culminated in the formation of the core team which delivered the Isle of Muck Wind Diesel Scheme in 1999.
A combination of technical, business and project delivery expertise, together with a strong commitment to the philosophy of sustainability and renewable energy, enable SgurrEnergy to offer clients an unrivalled range of skills and expertise, leading to the delivery of successful renewable energy projects.

Ian has been in the renewable energy industry for over 20 years. With a background in mechanical engineering, he has been involved in a wide range of renewable projects, from 500kW hydro schemes to 4000MW wind farms and is a Carbon Trust accredited consultant for the wind and biomass energy sectors. He is particularly skilled in technical assessments, problem solving using complex analytical tools and front-end project development. Ian has provided financial due diligence assessments for numerous financiers on a large portfolio of wind farms throughout the UK, Europe, Asia and North America, including the 120MW project Q7, which was the world’s first project financed offshore wind farm off the coast of the Netherlands.
Steve managed the Special Projects Group at ScottishPower Technology (Ingenco) before teaming up with Ian to found SgurrEnergy in 2002. With extensive experience in project management and implementation of renewable projects, Steve is currently managing a large portfolio of wind developments. He played a major role in management of the SgurrEnergy contract to lead the tender assessment process for the North Hoyle offshore wind farm’s 5-year, post-WOM (warranted operations and maintenance) and has significant experience managing projects across the UK and China.
